Egyptian Christian young woman kidnapped
An Egyptian Christian young woman from Beni-Sweif, around 100km south of Cairo, was kidnapped last week (8 April 2018).
Rasha Khalaf Thabet went to visit her grandfather, but never returned home. A friend saw three men force the 18-year-old into a car. Her family have reported her kidnap to police.
Rasha’s disappearance bears all the hallmarks of previous kidnappings of Christian young women. The kidnapping of Christian girls in Egypt and their forced conversion to Islam in preparation for marriage to a Muslim is “big business.”
There are networks of abductors working as Islamic mercenary-kidnappers, who are given material rewards for abducting the Christian girls.
